About this app

This resource is for people wanting to improve their pronunciation, spelling, and fluency in Yolŋu languages of Arnhem Land, Australia, with a focus on Gupapuyŋu, Djambarrpuyŋu, Ganalbiŋu and Marraŋu.

It has been made with the authority of Yolŋu elders and language authorities, under the leadership of Dr Waymamba Gaykamaŋu. The Project is funded by the Australian Government’s Indigenous Languages and Arts program. The software has been developed by David Nathan in collaboration with the First Nations Sovereignty and Diplomacy Centre, 2022.
